How to use your "Stuff"

Would you rather have to throw 0-0 fastball right down the middle OR would you rather have to throw a 2-0 fastball right down the middle? I love asking this question as it makes a pitcher think about what he is about to do. The approach to getting hitters out doesn't change. Attack the middle early in the count and then expand. If you expand early and have to come back to the middle of the plate it can make for a long day at the ballpark!
