Now that we are a couple weeks into the College & High School baseball season, most pitching staffs have defined roles on their teams. If you are in a relieving role we have some good info for you today! Speaking with the CEO of Owens Management, John Owens mentioned that a relievers heart rate should enter the game at the same beat or pulse that the game is pacing. Meaning you can't enter the game as a reliever thinking you have some time to pace yourself or work into the game. You have to be spot on from the first pitch you throw. When your name is called, enter the game with some energy that your teammates can pull from! I see it the same as a car exiting a ramp onto an Interstate. That car must enter the Interstate with the same speed or faster than the cars are moving that are already on the highway! If they enter at a slower pace then everything gets backed up! Don't be the reason your team gets backed up! Be that fire that propels them forward!
